The warm, book lined interior of Dog Eared Books

Independent bookshop in Stockbridge, Edinburgh

New books downstairs.
Secondhand and rare upstairs.

A small, warm bookshop on Raeburn Place. Two floors, a lot of shelves, and a cat called Chekhov who runs the place. Come and browse, or order without leaving home.

New books downstairs

Fiction, non fiction, poetry and childrens books on the ground floor. Ask us and we will order in almost anything.

Secondhand and rare upstairs

A whole floor of secondhand and rare finds. Come with time to spare, it is easy to lose an hour up there.

Something on most weeks

A book club, a poetry night, story time for little ones, and author events we announce on Instagram.

Our shop

A bookshop to get lost in

We are an independent bookshop on Raeburn Place, in the middle of Stockbridge. New books fill the ground floor. Climb the stairs and you are into secondhand and rare, shelf after shelf of them.

It is warm, it is a little cluttered, and that is exactly how we like it. Chekhov, our shop cat, agrees.

  • Email shop@dogearedbooks.scot with the title and we will reply the same week.
