Our shop

About Dog Eared Books

A small shop with a lot of books

Independent, family run and firmly part of Stockbridge. Two floors on Raeburn Place, and a cat who thinks it is one floor with a good staircase.

Downstairs

New books on the ground floor

The ground floor is our new books. Fiction and non fiction, poetry, cookery, childrens picture books and the local Scottish shelf that people come back for.

If we do not have a title, ask. We can order in almost anything and it usually lands within a few days.

Upstairs

Secondhand and rare above

Up the stairs is the quiet part. Secondhand books at fair prices, and a rare and collectable corner for first editions and old bindings.

Stock changes all the time, so it is never the same shop twice. If you collect something in particular, tell us and we will keep an eye out.

A shelf of old leather bound books with worn spines

Chekhov runs the shop. We just work here. He will pick a lap, judge your reading choices, and see you out at closing.
